Feds Say Obama Prayer Leader Is From Group Linked to Hamas

A Muslim scholar chosen to speak at President-elect Barack Obama's inaugural prayer service Wednesday is the leader of a group that federal prosecutors say has ties to terrorists.

It didn't seem to matter with Bill Ayers. Why should we think the public will care about this? Ties to terrorists? All the better to negotiate with them....right?

I'm always suspicious when people talk about links. For instance, Michael Moore linked George Bush through business contacts to Osama bin Laden. OK. That didn't mean they were bosom buddies. It was a spurious connection. I would wager that in this world any two oil interested families like the Bushes and bin Ladens can be linked.

The same is probably true about any two Moslem organizations. Hey, how about linking the Vatican to the IRA. You'll probably find something.

I belong to a number of environmental groups, for instance. We are law abiding and active citizens, but I'm sure if someone looks hard enough they'll be able to link me to an environmental terrorist organization somewhere.

Networks in the postmodern world are pretty flexible.
