Good News for the Economy - Bad news for the Democrats

I'm a little confused about how the Democrats differentiate between a good economy and a bad economy.
It seems that their definition of "recession" is 'two consecutive quarters with a Republican in the White House'.
It's a shame that people like Phil Gramm have to resign from the McCain campaign for speaking the truth.
